IAFF 6118: Capacity Building for Organizations Serving Migrant Youth in Thailand
This is a three-credit graduate project-based course focusing on capacity building for organizations serving migrant youth in Thailand.
Spring Break Travel Dates: March 13th 2020 – March 22nd 2020 (roughly 7 days in-country)
Weekly Pre-Trip Meetings: From January 13 2020 to March 13 2020
Post-Trip Meetings: Two to three meetings TBD
Destination: Chiang Mai, Thailand

During this project-based study abroad course, students will work directly with a client to complete a project aimed at meeting the client’s needs. Participants will spend roughly seven days in Chiang Mai, Thailand over spring break working with the program’s client, BEAM Education Foundation. BEAM provides education for migrants and refugees in Thailand with the goal of increasing their access to higher education. We will also receive support from VIA during the course, a non-profit organization that specializes in cross-cultural understanding and transformative education programs in Asia and the United States.
