Ambassador Laura Holgate joins the Institute for International Science and Technology Policy as a distinguished Visiting Scholar
WASHINGTON, DC – Amb. Laura Holgate has just returned from her appointment as Ambassador to the UN Mission to International Organizations in Vienna, Austria and will join us at IISTP for the coming year. Amb. Holgate has held many distinguished positions in government, including as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Weapons of Mass Destruction Terrorism and Threat Reduction at the National Security Council from 2009 - 2016, Director of the Office of Fissile Materials Disposition at the Department of Energy from 1998-2001, Special Coordinator and Director for Cooperative Threat Reduction at the Department of Defense from 1995-1998, and Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy from 1993-1995. Amb Holgate was Vice President for Russia/New Independent States Programs at the Nuclear Threat Initiative from 2001-2009.
