Join us for a site visit March 4th from 2-3PM to the Motion Picture Association (MPA)!  This site visit will cover the roles at MPA and how International Affairs is integral in their work- where global communications, government policy, economic development, state/subnational diplomacy and soft diplomacy through film. Space is limited to 25 students.TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:2:30 PM -  Depart from Elliott2:50 PM- GW Elliott students arrive around for security screening. 3:00 PM-  Meet Elliott alumni, Patrick Kane BA-IA,'17 Vice President, Digital Strategy and members of the team at MPA about the work of the MPA.3:20 PM- Meet with MPA's Government & International Affairs team who work with federal lawmakers, and policy colleagues from the studios around the world, and their Industry Relations lead, who manages partnerships with the studios, festivals, and external partners (including the workforce development program).3:35 PM- Q & A3:45 PM- Tour 4:00 PM- Group photo 4:05 PM- DepartLOGISTICSParticipants are welcome to meet Elliott staff at the Graduate Student Lounge on the 6th Floor, in front of the GSS office, by 2:30 p.m. as we plan to head out no later than 2:35 p.m.  Those who would like to meet the group at the MPA, be sure to arrive no later than 2:45 p.m.Students must bring a Government Issued ID with them for admittance to the WBG/IMF. (Your GW-ID does NOT meet this requirement.)BIOPatrick Kane- Vice President, Digital Strategy at the Motion Picture Association, where he is responsible for defining the strategy and direction for the MPA’s digital presence and managing the association’s digital platforms, including social media, websites, email campaigns, and graphic design.‍Previously, Patrick was the Head of Digital Communications at the British Embassy in Washington, where he oversaw all social media for ‘UKinUSA’ channels and the 8 British Consulates around the US. Before joining the British Embassy, Patrick worked at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and Meltwater News. He sits on the Advisory Board for National Digital Roundtable, the premier convener of digital innovators, leaders, and policy shapers.
