The Elliott School featured prominently in the 2024 Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA) Awards, winning two out of four award categories.
APSIA honored the Elliott School's Generations Dialogue Project with its 2024 Inclusion Award for Community Building. The award celebrates programs and efforts that bridge different groups and deepen a sense of connection within the community. The Generations Dialogue Project (GDP), with the support of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and the Elliott School, is an effort to recognize and systematically address the anxieties that may prevent younger generations, especially those who are under-represented, from considering, pursuing, and succeeding at careers in American foreign policy. Elliott's Data Literacy Initiative also took top prize, winning APSIA's Innovation Award for Professional Development Programming. This award honors new or innovative programming that helped graduate students develop professionally in the fields of international affairs. The Data Literacy Initiative endeavors to do just that by bridging the gap between data science and traditional analysis in international affairs and public policy. It aims to provide current and future policymakers with the modern analytic tools they need to revolutionize policy in information-rich environments. More information can be found on the Initiative's homepage.
