Join Elliott's GSS for the FIRST Career Cafe of the Spring semester (with free coffee & tea) and great conversation! In this casual, open discussion with you will meet Courtney Flynn Martino, Assistant Director of Transatlantic Relations for the Bertelsmann Foundation Think Tank. She will be joined by two GWU alumni: Alex Sarchet MA-IA ‘25  and Hanna Begun MA-IA ’25This discussion will be particularly valuable for students interested in:
Life at an independent, nonpartisan, and nonprofit think tank
Insights into global policy, transatlantic relations, and professional development in the non-profit sector 
Understanding how the U.S. and EU approach shared challenges and how to shape the future of this relationship

BIOCourtney manages the Transatlantic Barometer, an interactive platform that provides snapshot overviews of 31 transatlantic actors’ policy positions supplemented with interviews, infographics, and videos. She also conducts research on U.S.-German relations, with a focus on eastern Germany. Courtney comes to Bertelsmann after five years with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, where she managed an economics-focused exchange platform for international experts.She holds a M.A. in German and European Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, with a Certificate in Diplomatic Studies. Her graduate research focused on the impact of U.S. public diplomacy strategies in countering violent extremism.
