Dear Students, Faculty, Staff, Alumni, and Friends of the Elliott School,

We’ve had another momentous year at the Elliott School. As you know, we welcomed a new president to GW at the beginning of the academic year. President LeBlanc outlined his priority for the university to become a preeminent, research-driven, global institution. The Elliott School’s mission to build leaders for the world, and its eleven-strong research institutes, fit right into his vision. Throughout President LeBlanc’s listening tour, he heard from many Elliott School students and remarked upon how articulate they were, how inquisitive, and he noted how strongly they identified with the ElliottSchool. You are Elliott, and we value your contribution to making an intellectually vibrant, diverse, and accepting community. Thank you for being a part it.

A new year brings new hope for better opportunities, better grades, and new possibilities to bring about a world with peace and prosperity to all. In the spirit of the new year, my best wishes for a happy, healthy 2018!

Sincerely,
Reuben E. Brigety, II
Dean, Elliott School of International Affairs
