Tamara obtained a B.A. degree in French Language and Literature from Wellesley College, and an Ed.M. degree in Administration, Planning and Social Policy focused on Higher Education Administration from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
As a first-generation college graduate inspired by teachers, civic and spiritual leaders, postsecondary administrators and professors, Tamara discovered that her calling, her purpose, her raison d'etre (reason for being) is as an educator, career advisor/coach and instructor which led to professional opportunities at Brown University, Marymount College of Virginia, American University, Spelman College and Oglethorpe University.
A New Englander who previously lived in D.C. and the Atlanta metro area, she happily returned to the DMV in 2022, self-published her first book, and she is ecstatic to be a member of the GWU ESIA staff. In her spare time, she enjoys aerobic walking, writing a blog twice monthly, R&B music, Marvel Movies, reading fiction and nonfiction, fresh seafood and time with her favorite M&M.
