The Spring issue of the Journal of Illiberalism Studies (JIS), published by the Elliott School's Institute for European Russian and Eurasian Studies, is now live and available via Open Access. Featuring articles on a range of subjects related to illiberalism--from the need for a critical approach, to scholarly activism for the rule of law in the EU, to researcher safety and many things in between--the issue offers analysis from experts across the globe. Among the articles in the Spring issue is Elliott School Research Professor and JIS Chief Editor Marlene Laruelle's investigation of: "Wrestling with Ethical Issues in Studying Illiberalism: Some Remarks from the U.S. Context."
The Journal of Illiberalism Studies is a biannual journal published by the Illiberalism Studies Program at The George Washington University. JIS aims to provide an intellectual space for critical analyses of the concept of illiberalism and its derivates. The journal seeks to fill a gap in current academic debates regarding the treatment of the still understudied concept of illiberalism and make a contribution to its relevance for political philosophy, political science, sociology, media studies, IR, and cultural anthropology.
