International Environmental Studies
The International Environmental Studies concentration examines global environmental challenges through a multidisciplinary approach, focusing on how states, non-state actors, and the international community address issues like climate change, sustainable development, resource use, and environmental security.
- Learning Objectives
Students gain the ability to:
- Discuss the goals and principles of sustainability and international environmental policy and their practical applications.
- Analyze the links between natural resource use and a country’s economy, politics, and international relations.
- Evaluate international environmental challenges and their causes, assess current policy responses, and analyze their implementation and impact.
