President Ellen M. Granberg and Provost Christopher Alan Bracey recognized the 10 Distinguished Scholars in a ceremony at the University Student Center.

At the 2024 Academic Honors Ceremony, the university honored Elliott School undergraduate student Andrew Tomusiak as one of GW's ten Distinguished Scholars. Tomusiak is an international affairs major with a concentration in conflict resolution. He's held internships and research assistant positions with the State Department, the U.S. Army Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute, the Fragile States Index and the United States Institute of Peace, where he's co-authored several publications. Tomusiak was also a finalist for the Carnegie Endowment’s James C. Gaither Fellows program and a semi-finalist for a Fulbright award.

In addition to the ten Distinguished Scholars awards, 215 students, including 39 Elliott School students, received Outstanding Academic Achievement Awards. For more, check out GWToday's coverage of the ceremony.
