Corie O'Rourke (she/her/ella) is a founding partner of CK Legal, PLLC, an immigration law firm in Northern Virginia. She has worked as an immigration attorney for over 9 years, specializing in the representation of individuals who have experienced violence and trauma, including survivors of human trafficking, LGBTQIA+ asylum seekers, and unaccompanied migrant children.

Before becoming an immigration attorney, Corie worked for a microfinance organization in Nicaragua, did field research in Bolivia for a shadow report on indigenous peoples’ rights for the 20th session of the OHCHR’s Universal Periodic Review, studied in Salvador de Bahia and Rio de Janeiro during her Master’s degree, and researched international access to justice at the Bingham Centre for the Rule of Law of the British Institute for International and Comparative Law in London.

Corie has presented on and contributed to publications on a wide range of topics, including international human trafficking, push and pull factors in international migration, and trauma-informed lawyering.

She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, as well as both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in International Studies from the University of Oklahoma College of International Studies.

Corie is fluent in English and Spanish.
