Clare (she/her/hers) grew up both in the Washington, DC area and in Brussels, Belgium. She earned her BA from Kenyon College with a major in English and her MA from Teachers College, Columbia University in Secondary English Education. After graduate school, Clare lived in New York City, teaching middle and high school English. She also worked at a nonprofit organization in New York City that matches high school and college students with paid, mentored internships and provides them with career development training. Prior to joining the Elliott School Office of Undergraduate Academic Advising, Clare worked as an undergraduate academic advisor at American University’s School of International Service. In her free time, Clare volunteers with an organization that supports and advocates for recently arrived refugees and asylum seekers. She also enjoys reading, traveling and hiking with her family and friends.
