Career Café: Perfect Your Professional Elevator Pitch
Check! Check! Check! One-Two! One-Two! Calling all Elliott School Graduate Students! Join our upcoming Career Cafe to learn, practice and deliver your professional elevator pitch.
An elevator pitch is a brief way of introducing yourself, getting across a key point or two, and making a connection with someone - which takes roughly the amount of time you'd spend riding an elevator with someone. It should feature your KSAs (knowledge, skills, and abilities), spanning your language-speaking abilities, work experience, academic experience, and a human interest passion outside of work or school that you have in your downtime.
Agenda:
- What are the key elements of a Professional Elevator Pitch?
- Round 1 pairing off and choose one person to go first and listen to the other Elevator Pitch, then give feedback to your peer.
- Round 2 switch turns, and the other person pitches, and the first person that pitched listens and gives feedback.
- Debrief and talk discuss the Professional settings where Elevator Pitches are used
- Deliver your pitch in 60 seconds to the group and engage in group feedback! (Optional)
