Tomas Williams is an Assistant Professor of International Finance at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. His main fields of research are International Finance, Financial Economics and Empirical Banking, with a special interest on financial intermediaries and how they affect international capital flows and economic activity. He has published in leading academic journals in international economics and finance including Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of International Economics. Journal of International Money and Finance and the Review of Financial Studies. He studied economics at Universidad del CEMA in Buenos Aires and a Ph.D. in Economics and Finance from Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
