Suzanne Helm Ingram
Former Vice President for Philanthropy and Corporate Affairs at the Council on Foreign Relations
Suzanne E. Helm is a nonprofit leader and consultant with decades of experience in
fundraising, communications, and organizational management across public policy and
international affairs, higher education, public media, museums, and direct-service
charities. From 2005 to 2024, she served as Vice President for Philanthropy and
Corporate Affairs at the Council on Foreign Relations, where she worked closely with
board members, senior leadership, and fellows to secure unrestricted, project, and
endowment support from more than 5,000 members and leading foundations. Earlier in
her career, she spent nearly 14 years in advancement roles at the Brookings Institution.
Today, she advises nonprofit organizations on building sustainable fundraising
programs, strengthening advancement teams, and designing customized strategies to
meet their mission-specific goals. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations
and serves on the board of the New York Center for Child Development. She earned a
B.A. with Distinction from the University of Virginia and a Certificate in Exponential
Fundraising from the Harvard Kennedy School.
