Site Visit- Finland Embassy

When: Wednesday, November 11th 2026, 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm EST

Location: 3301 Massachusetts Avenue Northwest, Washington DC, District of Columbia 20008, United States

Join us for our final fall Site Visit to the Embassy of Finland!  This visit is limited to 30 students. Program will run from 2-3:30PM. Arrive by 1:45 to complete security screening. Plan extra time for transportation logistics, that will require our leaving GW Elliott around 12:30/1PM (to be determined closer to the event date.)The site visit will include:
An overview of Finland and their mission in the US with an introduction to Finnish society and culture 
a diplomatic briefing on Finland’s NATO membership, Ukraine, and security issues.  (Covering Finland's role as one of NATO's newest members, its border with Russia, and its Arctic and Baltic security responsibilities, the impact of US midterm elections and implications for NATO burden-sharing, US troop posture in Europe, and continued support for Ukraine.) 
Career Pathways: Working in Finland and with Finnish Organizations(Covering practical career pathways and opportunities working with Finnish companies, the Embassy, and a general overview of what US citizens should know about working in Finland -or the EU more broadly.)
