BIO
A proud Singaporean, Sharmishta raised across the Middle East, North America, Europe, South and Southeast Asia. A development economist as well as experienced corporate strategy and public policy professional, Sharmishta considers herself a chameleon of sorts, ultimately committed to strengthening public-private cooperation. She is immensely passionate about healthcare, global governance, macroeconomics and sustainable development.
Prior to her current role leading Global Operations for 35+ countries at the Clinton Health Access Initiative, she worked as a management consultant at EY-Parthenon, served in the Government of Singapore as well as worked at organizations committed to public impact such as the World Economic Forum, Asian Development Bank and the United Nations.
Sharmishta is a Board Member of Caring for Cambodia. Additionally, she has served an Ambassador for the Singapore Leaders Network (SGLN), a Youth Ambassador for World Summit Award, a member of INSPIRIT, a fellow of the Harpswell ASEAN programme in Women’s Leadership and an Executive Committee member of SINDA Youth Club (Head, SYC Young Adults Community).
In her spare time, she is an amateur photographer and freelance writer and has published work on platforms such as Forbes, the World Economic Forum Agenda, GlobalCitizen.org, ASEAN Post, Times of India, and the Harvard Kennedy School’s Singapore Policy Journal.
She is a December 2015 graduate of GWU with a double major in International Affairs and Economics and a minor in Sustainability. She also holds a Master in Development Studies from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland.
