Dan Taylor is the director of the Office of Partner Engagement in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. In this role he coordinates Intelligence Community outreach and engagement with foreign, domestic, and private sector partners. He served previously as the National Intelligence Officer for China on the National Intelligence Council. In that role he was the senior analyst on China in the Intelligence Community and the primary substantive advisor to the DNI and senior White House officials on all issues related to China and East Asia.
Prior to assuming these positions with ODNI, he was a senior executive level analyst at the Defense Intelligence Agency. Dan was with DIA for over 20 years as a China analyst, serving in positions of increasing responsibility including as the Defense Intelligence Officer for East Asia and as the Senior Defense Intelligence Analyst for China. He also served a tour in Iraq and another one as an Executive Briefer in the Pentagon. Prior to his federal civilian service, Dan served in the US Army as a Field Artilleryman.
Dan has earned an MS in Defense and Strategic Studies from Missouri State University and an MA in Military History (War since 1945) from American Military University.
