At the 2024 Academic Honors Ceremony, the university honored Elliott School undergraduate student Andrew Tomusiak as one of GW's ten Distinguished Scholars. Tomusiak is an international affairs major with a concentration in conflict resolution. He's held internships and research assistant positions with the State Department, the U.S. Army Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute, the Fragile States Index and the United States Institute of Peace, where he's co-authored several publications. Tomusiak was also a finalist for the Carnegie Endowment’s James C. Gaither Fellows program and a semi-finalist for a Fulbright award.
