Richard Xu is a PhD candidate in economics at The George Washington University, specializing in applied econometrics with a focus on public economics, healthcare, and media industries. His research interests center around harnessing the potential of large, granular structured or unstructured data sources. He leverages natural language processing techniques and large language models to extract valuable economic insights and generate key economic indicators, with the ultimate goal of predicting the state of the economy.
Currently, Richard is deeply involved in a diverse range of research projects that span the fields of narrative economics, expectation sentiments, and consumption fluctuations. As a multidisciplinary economist and data scientist, he possesses exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills, allowing him to approach complex economic issues with analytical rigor.
