Heidi Hiebert is a professorial lecturer at Elliott School of International Affairs and the department of political science at The George Washington University. Professor Hiebert teaches international political economy, international organizations in world politics, and research methods for students of international affairs. Her research interests include the role of economic ideas and models in shaping market economies.
Prior to completing her PhD in international affairs at American University, she held positions with the World Economic Forum, several international consulting firms, as well as consultant positions with the US Department of Health and Human Services. Outside of the US, Professor Hiebert has lived and worked in Germany, Switzerland and Sweden and currently serves on the Board of the Friends of the Graduate Institute (The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneve), where she earned an MA in International Economics.
