The Elliott School's Institute for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies released its fifth volume of the Journal of Illiberalism Studies (JIS). JIS aims to provide an intellectual space for critical analyses of the concept of illiberalism and its derivates. This young journal aims to fill a gap in current academic debates regarding the treatment of the still understudied concept of illiberalism and make a contribution to its relevance for political philosophy, political science, sociology, media studies, IR, and cultural anthropology.
The latest volume features articles on: "Christian Nationalism as an Illiberal Interpretation of Religion," "Explaining Demographic Changes in the 2024 Election," and "'Hello from the Other Side' Albania and Kosovo's Distinct Approach to Religion and Politics," among many more. This and previous installments of the journal are available in their entirely via open access on the JIS homepage.
