Alexandra Rivera is the Program Manager at the George Washington University Institute for International Economic Policy (IIEP), which provides a platform for high-quality, multi-disciplinary, and non-partisan research, policy engagement, and outreach in international economic and development policy.
Prior to joining IIEP, Alexandra served as Communications Manager at Compass Pro Bono, a national nonprofit organization that creates strategic partnerships between nonprofit and business leaders. In addition to managing day-to-day communications, she also redesigned and built the website, updated visual branding, and grew the organization's LinkedIn following by over 40%. Before transitioning to communications, Alexandra supported their DC programs, where she provided strategic support to over 100 nonprofit organizations and fostered civic engagement among 300 business leaders on an annual basis.
Alexandra graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in Economics and Government, where she was also a member of the varsity volleyball team. During her undergraduate studies, Alexandra interned at the Latino Economic Development Center in Washington, DC, and at DoSomething.org in New York, NY.
Outside of work, Alexandra is a member of the steering committee for the Hoyas for Others Social Impact Alumni Club, which connects and supports Georgetown University Alumni involved in the social impact sector around the world.
Alexandra is currently pursuing an MA in International Economic Policy at the Elliott School of International Affairs.
