Recruit at Elliott

Grow your organization with talented international policy professionals from the Elliott School. The Elliott School of International Affairs Graduate School Services will connect you with graduate students who have international experience, language skills, and a multi-disciplinary skillset.

Job Posting

We can assist you in alerting our M.A. candidates and alumni about full-time employment, internship opportunities, and special projects within your organization. We will post them free of charge in our jobs database. Should you choose to post these positions yourself, please register in Handshake. Handshake has replaced GWork to become GW's one-stop-shop for managing the career development and recruitment needs of our students, alumni, and employers!

Career Networking Panels

Throughout the year, GSS sponsors career networking panels that are generally one and a half hours in length. Ideally, three to five panelists from a specific industry share their perspectives on the career field and their organizations. There is also a question-and-answer session. Students greatly appreciate the career panels, as they are unique opportunities to receive firsthand information about organizations, as well as receive feedback and suggestions for their job or internship search.

On-Campus Presentations and Interviews

On-campus presentations, as well as interviews, provide an excellent opportunity for you to introduce students to your organization and industry, as well as meet our students. Additionally, students can learn about a variety of positions available at your organization. Presentations are generally one and a half hours in length, include a multimedia presentation, and occur at the Elliott School. In addition, our center has three interview rooms available for your use throughout the year.

Employer Site Visit

Designed as an informational program to help familiarize students with both your organization and the industry in general, site visits also offer students a chance to learn about internship or employment opportunities within your organization. Hosting a site visit requires a commitment from one to four hours and can include 10 - 50 students.

Professional Development Seminars/Workshops

To ensure that Elliott School students are meeting your needs, GSS offers various workshops such as networking strategies and/or interviewing skills during the fall and spring semesters. Working with a career coach to facilitate a professional development seminar/workshop, sessions are usually one hour in length and can occur in person or online through a webinar.

Dinner with Alumni Series

The Elliott School Dinner with Alumni Series brings together employers with a small group of students for intimate conversations designed to provide students with insights into their career paths. They occur bi-weekly during the academic year.

Employer(s)-in-Residence

The employer(s)-in-residence program is an opportunity for senior-level industry experts to volunteer and work with Elliott School graduate students on career-related concerns.

Employer(s)-in-residence enables students to gain a unique perspective on their chosen career field directly from employers and receive individual feedback on résumés, cover letters, and/or interviewing strategies. The program also provides employer volunteers an opportunity to help prepare Elliott School graduate students for their next career move, identify potential talent for their industry, as well as give back to the Elliott School by aiding graduate students in their career development.
