Melissa is the International Development Studies Program Assistant at the Elliott School of International Affairs. Previously, Melissa worked in development at Chemonics International in the Latin American and Caribbean region, Melissa mostly supported projects in Democracy & Governance and Gender & Development. Prior to that, Melissa was working in refugee resettlement in the DMV area with the International Rescue Committee, providing economic integration services to resettled refugees and asylees. Melissa is a master degree candidate at the Elliott School in International Development Studies Program (IDS). Melissa holds a bachelor’s in international studies with a concentration in Politics and Diplomacy from Texas A&M University. Melissa is interested in issues of migration, human rights, and gender.
