Matthew Donovan, ESIA BA '17, serves as Assistant Director of Elliott School Annual Giving. Matt assists with alumni relations programming and annual giving initiatives.

Matt previously worked at the Atlantic Council, where he assisted in the management of a portfolio of corporate and individual donors and helped coordinate events, proposals, stewardship activities related to ongoing campaigns, and membership communications.

During his undergraduate studies at the Elliott School, Matt interned with the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, where he assisted the Syria Team with foreign assistance policy and grants for front-line states in the Middle East. While at the State Department, he started the No Lost Generation Student Initiative, a network of grassroots refugee advocacy groups that work with NGOs, the private sector, and various government agencies to mobilize students around the world in support of refugees and migrants.

He also worked as a student assistant in GW's Office of Alumni Relations for three years, supporting events and stewardship activities for the alumni population.

He is originally from Vermont.
