Background

Ky Luu joined the Elliott School of International Affairs in Fall 2016 as Director of the Initiative for Disaster and Fragility Resilience and Research Professor of the Practice of International Affairs. He received his J.D. from the George Washington University School of Law in 2000, and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan. Before coming to GW, Luu served as the Executive Director and Clinical Associate Professor in the Disaster Resilience Leadership Academy at Tulane University. Prior to this, he served as Director of the Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance from 2006-2009.
