Admissions Requirements

The MIS is a special degree program exclusively designed for current students and recent alumni of Masters' programs at Elliott School International Partners.

Any applicant to the MIS must have a specific affiliation with an Elliott School International Parnter. As such, applicants to the MIS program must be simultaneously enrolled in Masters' programs at these partners


recent alumni who have completed a Master's degree at those institutions within the past three years.

Background coursework in languages and the social sciences, including introductory micro- and macroeconomicsFour semesters (or the equivalent) of a modern foreign language and course background in economics (micro- and macroeconomics.) Course(s) must be successfully completed through an accredited institution.

In some cases, a student may be admitted who has not fulfilled the economics requirement; in which case, the student is required to take course(s) at an accredited college/university prior to enrollment at the Elliott School, or by taking the three-week review course(s) of micro- and macroeconomics that the Elliott School offers prior to the start of the fall semester. 

GRE scores are not required for M.I.S applicants.

Proof of English proficiency is required. A minimum TOEFL score of 600 on the paper-based test (250 CBT or 100 IBT) is required for non-native English speakers. The Elliott School will also accept IELTS scores; all band scores must be above 6.0, with a preferred overall score of 7.0.
