What GSS Can do for You

Career Coaching

GSS career coaches are available to assist you with specific questions via one-on-one sessions in person, by phone, WebEx, or by email no matter where you are in the world. During these sessions, you may discuss job search strategies, arrange a mock interview, have your resume or cover letter critiqued, discuss salary negotiations, or get a different perspective on your job search. Job Postings 

We have job postings for people with all levels of work experience. The website is updated daily with a variety of jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities from around the nation and around the world. To access Handshake, you will need an alumni NetID and password for the system. Please go to to retrieve your alumni NetID and password. You may also contact Alumni Relations at or (202) 994-6435 if you forgot or do not know your registration information.

Career Resources

In addition to one-on-one career coaching, GSS offers alumni have full access our online resources through Handshake. You can view sample resumes, cover letters, fact sheets, career track guides, and more in the documents section of Handshake. You can also access many helpful websites by visiting our online Graduate Resource Center. You can also check out our Vimeo page for videos on tips for international interviews and making your resume and cover letters stand out.
