Balazs is currently an adjunct instructor at the George Washington University's Elliott School of international Affairs and a final year PhD Candidate and adjunct faculty at American University's School of International Service. He teaches courses on international relations,
research methods, and U.S. foreign policy. Balazs' dissertation focuses on incohesion in politico-military alliances, and his other research interests include NATO and European security and defense policy issues. Prior to his doctoral studies, Balazs served as civilian defense official in the Hungarian Ministry of Defense, working on NATO policy.
