Former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Jendayi Frazer discusses the recent referendum held in semi-autonomous south Sudan. The referendum, which was overwhelming in favor of the south splitting from the north, came six years after the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement — or CPA — which ended the second Sudanese civil war after more than 20 years of fighting.

The third World Youth Democracy Forum featured Russian human rights activist and democracy proponent Oleg Kozlovsky. Mr. Kozlovsky is the co-founder of the Solidarnost United Democratic Movement and a co-founder of Oborona, a democratic youth movement in Moscow, Russia. This event was broadcast live online, enabling students in the United Kingdom and Romania to participate in real-time.

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Bob Woodward, Washington Post associate editor and author of Obama's Wars, spoke to an Elliott School audience of students, faculty, alumni, and friends about his new book as well as the relationship between journalism and foreign policy. Mr. Woodward discussed his experiences covering seven U.S. presidential administrations as a reporter for the Post, and he answered audience questions about changes in the profession over the years, his thoughts on national security and foreign policy decisions that he's covered, and the recent Wikileaks disclosures and their potential impact.
