Background:

Dr. Robles is Professor of International Marketing and International Affairs at the School of Business at the George Washington University. Dr. Robles's research and consulting experience is in Global Marketing and Regional Marketing Strategies. His book, Winning Strategies for the New Latin Markets (2002), has been categorized as pioneering work in the field of international business. His articles have appeared in many academic and professional journals, including The Journal of International Business Studies, International Marketing Review, Industrial Marketing Management, The Journal of Euromarketing, The International Executive, The Journal of Direct Marketing, Latin American Business Review and Thunderbird International Business Review. He has also made many contributions to chapters in books in Global and International Marketing and serves in the editorial board of Management Decision.

Dr. Robles has given seminars to companies such as Ericsson Radio Systems, AT&T, and participated in executive management programs in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Paraguay and Peru. Before joining George Washington University, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico. He is currently a visiting professor in ITAM of Mexico and the Kochin International School of Business in India.

Dr. Robles was president of the Business Association of Latin American Studies from 1989-1990 and served as its Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He is a member of the Education Committee of the Direct Marketing Association of Washington, the Advisory Council of the International Society for Marketing and Development, the American Marketing Association, the Academy of International Business, and the Business Association for Latin American Studies.

A native of Peru, Dr. Robles received a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering at the National University of Engineering and a Masters degree from the Graduate School of Business Administration (ESAN) in Lima, Peru. He has an MBA degree from Georgia State University and a Ph.D. degree in Business Administration from the Pennsylvania State University.
